Typically, what is entailed in commissioning a painted portrait,
is for me to acquire a suitable photograph from the client, or I
can take the photograph myself. Having a few photos on hand will
enable me to sense the personality of the subject. With your input,
I am able to create a portrait that captures the uniqueness of your
loved one. I strive to capture the individualism of the subject’s
soul and transfer it with the use of prismacolor pencils and pastels
into a work of art! The piece is something only you will own and
be very proud of.
Unless you request otherwise, all photographic
prints, including original paintings, will be dry-mounted to flatten
the surface for better viewing and for their protection.
As with all prints and artwork, I will mat the print or artwork,
with acid-free mats to ensure the quality of
work and prevent fading colors of the mat. You have a choice of
single, double or triple matting and either square or oval cuts.
If you decide to leave this decision to me, I will mat the print
or portrait to suit the subject and balance the overall picture.
I
have an extensive assortment of frames for you
to choose from. This is something the client and I can discuss
when applicable. I do prefer to mat and frame the piece myself
as I charge very little for this practice. I prefer to have the
artwork ready to hang when it's delivered to the client. But this
is up to the you.

For one pet,
double matted with acid-free mats and framed ready for hanging is
usually $350. If the subject is a medium to large breed dog or horse,
it would normally be a bust image. If the subject is a cat or small
breed of dog, it can be the entire animal. Additional subjects in
the same painting would increase the price by $100 for the second
subject and an additional $75 for each one after that. The finished
piece would be approximately 16 x 20 framed if only one subject
is involved but it could be slightly larger depending on format
and balancing the overall painting. Of course, if more than one
subject is in the painting, the overall finished size would be larger,
unless a custom size is requested. In this case, the project will
need further discussion as to what the client actually wants.
Portraits of people require much more intense
study. The price for one subject would be $450 with each additional
subject being $150. Again, the overall size would be approximately
16 x 20 framed unless more than one subject is requested.
Intimate
portraits, Native American and wildlife scenes all fall into the
category of custom portraits and need to be discussed
as to what one actually desires.

Sizes & Pricing
All
photographs are available in two sizes, unless a larger format
is requested. The pricing is as follows.
Image size of 10 x 14, matted with two acid-free mats and framed
ready for hanging with the overall frame being 16 x 20 is $175.
Image size of 16 x 20 to 24, depending on format, matted with
two acid-free mats and in a frame that could be 22 x 30, is $235.
All
prints will be dry-mounted for quality viewing. I prefer to complete
and frame any piece I sell or am commissioned to do, to ensure
completeness of finished product. If for any reason matting and
framing are not desired, deduct $75 from any price of artwork
or photograph.
Frames
for all pieces are high quality frames. The decision of which
frame to use will be discussed with the client.
If
shipping is required, a charge of $30 is added for packaging, insurance,
tracking and shipping to client’s location.
